Spring Consignment Sale March 22-26
It’s not too late to sign up to work! We still need helpers for the sale, especially Saturday. If you can help, sign up at We need all our parents to help. Nursery is provided at almost all shifts. We hope you find lots of great bargains at the sale. Bring a friend with you to shop! The sale has wonderful stuff for children.

Kindergarten registration is being planned at all the area elementary schools. You will need to take a current Immunization Form (3231) and Hearing, Dental, and Vision Form (3300); a certified birth certificate; your child’s social security number; and, 2 proofs of residency in the school zone. In addition, Cherokee requires a picture ID. You may also need a variety of phone numbers as emergency contacts. Go to the Cobb or Cherokee Schools website for further information. Cobb has announced that their registration date is March 30 between 8:30 and 11:00 AM. Students must be 5 on or before September 1.

The ABC’s of Kindergarten April 12, Tuesday (new date!)
We are planning a parent session to give you the inside scoop on what to expect when your child goes to kindergarten! We hope all our parents will attend. If you have an older child who has already gone to kindergarten, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences at your neighborhood school with upcoming parents. If you have a preschool graduate this spring this may help with your fears. This will be a good time to meet other parents whose children eventually will be in elementary school with your child. We will offer nursery services for children not in school. Please reply to your lead room mom when she sends a reminder email in April.

Preschool 2011-12 Registration Update
We were able to fill all our current classes this year (even in this challenging economy!) and with your help we hope to fill them all next year. We have several classes that are full and are hopeful of filling the last spots. Please continue to ‘advertise’ for us. If you registered and decided to pay for the upfront August tuition with a separate check, please remember that the check will be cashed on the date you selected. All pre-paid tuition is due no later than May 30.

Jackets and Tennis Shoes
We still need you to send a jacket with your child to school. Also – Please leave the cute cowboy boots, sandals and crocs at home! Your child can run and climb more safely in tennis shoes. We go to the playground every day that the weather permits.
GA Preschool Conference March 4
Our preschool staff plans to attend this fun event. We enjoy hearing wonderful new ideas at this conference. It is exciting to spend the day with staff from other schools hear experts in the early childhood field. No school on Friday 3/4!

Teacher Appreciation Week
Our room moms and preschool board are organizing a week to show our teachers how special they are. Your class’s room mom will be contacting you with details. The week of March 14 – 18 is Teacher Appreciation Week this year. Our theme is “Make a Splash!”
(Look for an envelope in your child’s bag!)

Extended Day
If your child is in our 2’s or young 2’s classes and has stayed for lunch the tab for days stayed is on your March tuition reminder. Days included are from Jan. 5 – Feb. 18.

School Photos
Our school photographer will be here March 22 – 23. He will take individual and class pictures. Photos of siblings together can also be arranged. You will be offered proofs to order.

March 18 is now a School Day! Let’s all wear our school T-shirts!
Remember that we have added this day to our calendar. Since Cobb Co. Schools has changed their calendar to include this day, we will, too. Classes for 3’s and 4’s that usually do not meet that day (Jenny’s and Victoria’s) will meet. Other children who do not usually come to school on Friday may attend March 18 or another day worked out with their teacher.

School Calendar for 2011-12
With all the confusion regarding the Cobb Co. Schools calendar for next year, we have had a hard time staying in sync with their schedule! We have decided to stick with our start date of August 17. This is only 2 days after Cobb starts which will be a little different for us! We may add back a few holidays in order to plan our usual number of school days (usually around 160). We will publish a calendar of the whole year later.

VBS June 27 – July 1 “Island Odyssey”
